Recently Microsoft has published his new tool called SMAT (SharePoint Migration Assessment Tool). This tool allows you to scan your SharePoint 2013 or 2016 farm, to provide you enough information if your farm is ready for a migration to Office 365 and to assess the potential issues that your farm could have.
This tool provides 28 categories divided into several detailed CSV files, this categories are:
- add-ins
- Alerts
- BCS
- Browser File Handling
- Checked-out files
- Custom Profile Property Mappings
- Customized Pages
- Customized Profile Pages
- Email Enabled Listys
- File Versions
- Fulll Trust Components
- InfoPath
- IRM
- Large Excel Files, Large files, large lists, large sites, long url’s
- Master Pages
- Sandbox solutions
- Secure Store
- Web Application Policiers
- Workflow Associations and solutions

SMAT, runs from a command-line interface, it scans the server farm and depending of how much information do you have in the farm could take more time to complete the scan:
I will hope that MS provide more info about the tool and continue providing support to people like us to to know which problems we’ll have migrating our infraestructure to the cloud.
