How to block Sharepoint Installations

From the 2010 version SharePoint provides the ability to lock down, track and even block unauthorized installations on SharePoint. The SharePoint setup wizard is designed to check for a registry key on the local system and block the install if the value of the key is configured for that.

Blocking the installation of SharePoint (2010 and 2013) is as easy as configure this registry key in the unauthorized computers:

For SHAREPOINT 2010:

HKLMSoftwarePoliciesMicrosoftShared ToolsWeb Server Extensions14.0SharePointDisableInstall (DWORD): 1

For SHAREPOINT 2013:

HKLMSoftwarePoliciesMicrosoftShared ToolsWeb Server Extensions15.0SharePointDisableInstall (DWORD): 1

There won´t be a problem with the prerequisites installation but, having configured this registry key any attempt of SharePoint Installation will encounter the following message:
